Cut Your Music Business Legal Bills in Half

Every legal victory is a pyrrhic victory.  Therefore, use every resource available to you in order to cut your music business legal bills in half.

bulletAlign yourself with (non-profit) organizations that offer free or low cost legal representation.
bulletLearn to conduct legal research on your own:  library, internet, etc.
bulletIf the case is rather simple, consider using a legal aide (paralegal) to do the paperwork.
bulletNegotiate a fixed fee or floor and ceiling for the legal work.
bulletInclude either a mediation or arbitration clause in contracts as a means of conflict resolution.
bulletIf necessary, change lawyers in mid stream.
bulletDon't fax, e-mail, or telephone your lawyer unless you absolutely have to.
bulletKeep a journal of your communication with your lawyer.
bulletTry to get a legal insurance policy.

You have been given the basics and a starting point, go from there!
