Movie Music Supervisors

Motion pictures music supervision may sound like an easy job but, when done properly, it can result in a very complex but rewarding marriage of the movie and music industries on both the creative and business levels.  The music supervisor works very closely with the movie producer and director by making suggestions for certain songs, artists, songwriters, and composers for the film.  She may even suggest certain songs that would meld well with the action onscreen which, in turn, can affect the emotions of the intended movie audience.  After the producer and director make the final decisions, the music supervisor will then oversee the entire process by facilitating all meetings with the film personnel, coordinate the creative people, supervise the recording sessions and help to structure and negotiate all the deals for music clearances.

If the movie is a musical, the music supervisor would get involved in the pre-production stages of the movie in order that the pre-recorded music will be available when filming starts.

You have been given the basics and a starting point, go from there!
