Music Group Breakups

One of the first business matters at hand when a musical group is legally forming is to take into consideration the legal and financial ramifications of members leaving the group, joining the band, or, in a worst case scenario, disbanding.  Here are some topics usually covered when a group decides to formally incorporate their band:

bulletWho is the legal owner of the group's name?
bulletWhat percentage of the group will each member own?
bulletThe complete dissolution of the group
bulletLanguage which may give the record company the unfettered power to treat all leaving members as leaving members, individual or group
bulletProvisions for the record company to have absolute veto power in the selection of replacement members
bulletHow advances and royalties among old and new members will be divided equitably

You have been given the basics and a starting point, go from there!
