DEMO Honors Prince's Historic Album "Crystal Ball" with Liquid Crystal Award

DEMO granted the Liquid Crystal Award to Prince to commemorate the achievement of the very first million selling album in digital music history, 'Crystal Ball'.

New York, NY  December 4, 2005 -- DEMO: Digital & Electronic Music Organization, Inc. (www.d-e-m-o.com) granted the Liquid Crystal Award to Prince on October 28, 2005. The Liquid Crystal Certification Award was presented to the musical genius Prince to commemorate the achievement of the very first million selling album in digital music history, 'Crystal Ball'. 'Crystal Ball', the four CD set album which was originally released in 1997, has sold more than 250,000 units with each CD counting as a single unit, hence a grand total of 1,000,000 units sold. Andre Gray, CEO/Founder of DEMO and inventory of online music sales certifications, states that, "This is the album that sent the first clear signal to the so-called major labels that musicians do not need them in order to become successful in the music business. History will remember this album as the Plymouth Rock of the digital music frontier".

DEMO: Digital & Electronic Music Organization, Inc. (www.d-e-m-o.com) provides online music sales certifications on a global scale. Andre Gray, inventor of online music sales certifications on a global scale, envisioned the concept of DEMO on October 9, 1999, to create an organization that will award certifications for secured electronic music sales (SEMS) over the internet. The primary purpose of DEMO is to create a global de facto standard for online music sales and to promote all the musical genres of the world as a unifying force.
