DEMO Presents CD Baby with Flaming Star 2 Certification Award for Achieving a Historical Milestone

DEMO grants the Flaming Star 2 certification award to CD Baby on October 31, 2005 to commemorate the monumental achievement of 10,000,000 secured electronic music sales (SEMS).

NEW YORK, NY  December 4, 2005 -- DEMO: Digital & Electronic Music Organization, Inc. (www.d-e-m-o.com) granted the Flaming Star 2 Certification Award to CD Baby on October 31, 2005. The Flaming Star 2 Certification Award was presented to CD Baby to commemorate the monumental achievement of 10,000,000 secured electronic music sales (SEMS). Accepting the award on behalf of CD Baby, Derek Sivers, President of CD Baby, said, "We're deeply honored to accept this award. Really CD Baby should get none of the credit, as we are just a tool that 100,000 musicians have used to sell their music directly to the world. Still, we'll be glad to accept it, to keep doing what we're doing." Andre Gray, CEO/Founder of DEMO and inventor of online music sales certifications, states that, "The success of CD Baby to sell 10,000,000 units of artists who were virtually unknown is indeed a very noteworthy and monumental achievement. The contribution of Derek Sivers to the digital music revolution is tantamount to that of Steve Jobs and, in some cases, more impressive when you take into consideration the fact that he forced the so-called major labels to reconsider their antiquated business models."

DEMO: Digital & Electronic Music Organization, Inc. (www.d-e-m-o.com) provides online music sales certifications on a global scale. Andre Gray, inventor of online music sales certifications on a global scale, envisioned the concept of DEMO on October 9, 1999, to create an organization that will award certifications for secured electronic music sales (SEMS) over the internet. The primary purpose of DEMO is to create a global de facto standard for online music sales and to promote all the musical genres of the world as a unifying force.
